Given more time I would have loved to expand each level into a series of progressively harder levels, and I would have added more of a variety of enemies. In the end I was very happy with how the game turned out, and although there is a lot of polish I would have liked to add, I think it plays fairly well too. I really enjoyed designing different levels and trying to come up with new obstacles given the tilesets I was able to download from the Forge. I was able to put them all together using the Stencyl platform and used some simple jump and shoot mechanics to allow the user to pregress through the game. I decided that I would make each level represent a different element, and after some searching I found a sprite sheet for an archer that had different elemental arrows, hence Elemental Archer.Īfter some searching online I was able to find some enemies that I thought really fit the worlds I wanted to make. All of the games that I have made in the past have been based around some new type of mechanic and art that I whipped up with Power Point shapes.Īfter learning about Stencyl and playing around with it for a little, I saw that through the Stencyl Forge I would be able to download all of the tiles I needed to make some pretty cool game worlds. ![]() ![]() ![]() For my individual game I wanted to try to make a game with simple mechanics and a cool art style.
